    Colombo Bourse lost its 6 day winning streak and settled on negative terrain. Previous day’s change in foreign investor behavior and upcoming New- Year season resulted lower investor participation and made the retailers return to cautious stance.

    Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,614.17- 5,656.94 points and settled the day at 5,621.36 with a loss of 32.07 points (-0.57%).

    Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were TJL (+0.7), NHL (+0.6), AHPL (+0.6), NEST (+0.5), SLTL (+0.4), HHL (-4.8), CARS (-4.2), CTC (- 4), MELS (-3.2) & JKH (-2.8)

      Colombo Bourse started the session on a neutral note but later turned negative after the foreign to
      foreign deals on MELS & LLUB. Sri Lanka’s traditional New-Year celebrations and cautious investor sentiments had affected market
      transactions (trades); declined by nearly 50% from the average levels.

      Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,595.46- 5,623.64 points and settled the day at 5,595.46 with a loss of 25.90 points (-0.46%).

      Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were MELS (+2.7), HNB.X (+1.5), LOFC (+0.9), DFCC (+0.6), ABL (+0.5), JKH (-8.4), LOLC (-5), LLU (-1.9), DIAL (-1.7) & TJL (-1.5)

        Colombo Bourse witnessed another sluggish session, investor participation dried following yesterday’s sharp fall in several investor favorite counters. Yesterday’s Central Bank Policy decision also failed to convince the worried investors.

        Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,579.41- 5,598.82 points and settled the day at 5,583.66 with a loss of 11.80 points (-0.21%).

        Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were JKH (+4.2),CARG (+2.7), LHCL (+1.1), PLC (+1), RICH (+0.9), DIAL (-5.2), DIST (-4.9), AHPL (-3.7), COMB (-1.8) & SINS (-1.4)

          Colombo Bourse continued to close on negative terrain after a volatile trading session. Sluggisheconomic condition and traditional New Year falling at the end of the week possibly would have lowered the enthusiasm of the local investors. However foreigner investors turned net buyers for the day.

          Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,579.56 - 5,592.76 points and settled the day at 5,583.58 with a loss of 0.08 points (-0.00%).

          Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were CLC (+2.7),NDB (+1.4), CFIN (+1.3), HHL (+1.0), LOFC (+0.9), CTC (-1.8), JKH (-1.7), LMF (- 1.3), COMB (-1.0) & BRWN (-0.9)

            Sluggish trend continued for the third consecutive day, indices closed negative for the 5th straight session. Government’s efforts of re- activating the economy, was failed to reflect on Colombo Bourse due to selling pressure from foreign investors (80% of turnover).

            Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,576.11- 5,590.33 points and settled the day at 5,576.11 with a loss of 7.47 points (-0.13%).

            Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were HHL (+2.4), LOFC (+1.8), CLC (+1.4), HNB.X (+0.7), VONE (+0.5), MELS (-4.2), CARG (-2.7), EBCR (-2), SPEN (-1.6) & DFCC (-1.3)

              Investor participation further declined; announcement of the most expected hotel disposal deal by EAST, also failed to contribute to
              the Bourse due to higher amount of sales appeared on the counter.

              Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,575.57- 5,588.07 points and settled the day at 5,585.30 with a gain of 9.19 points (+0.16%).

              Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were DIST (+4.9), JKH (+4.2), CARS (+4.1), OSEA (+1.3), SINS (+1), HHL (-3.6), NTB (-1.1), BRWN (- 0.6), COMB (-0.6) & ABL (-0.5)

                Bourse remained sluggish as investors on holiday mood; busy with traditional New-Year rituals. Some signs of positiveness noted during the session which wiped the early losses and made the indices to settle on positive note.

                Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,576.50- 5,593.72 points and settled the day at 5,591.83 with a gain of 6.53 points (+0.12%).

                Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were HNB (+3.5), MELS (+3.5), TJL (+1.8), DFCC (+1.3), VONE (+1.2), CFIN (-2), DIAL (-1.7), LFIN (- 1.6), COMB (-1.4) & SAMP (-1.4)

                  Bourse continued to witness lower investor participation, but activities improved with increased interest from foreign investors.
                  Yesterday’s T- Bill auction yields declined across all maturities for the 7 th consecutive week; added
                  confidence to retail investors.

                  Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,592.25- 5,604.49 points and settled the day at 5,603.35 with a gain of 11.52 points (+0.21%).

                  Major contributors for the movement in ASPI were LOLC (+5.8), CCS (+5.1), NEST (+1.9), DIAL (+1.7), PLC (+1), DIST (-2), HNB (-1.8), JKH (-1.4), SAMP (-1.1) & DFCC (-1.1)

                    Many Blue-Chips lost the ground due to lower activities; considerable selling pressure appeared on DFCC Rights, on its last trading day, weighed on Banks; investor participation further subdued ahead of long weekend.

                    Benchmark index ASPI moved between 5,593.67- 5,611.09 points and settled the day at 5,606.35 with a gain of 3 points (+0.05%).
