    • Thanks Luke.
It means we should watch for 52W Lows and accumulate more. PER of below 3 would be absolute bargain!

      • Shareholding (Excluding the top 20) No of Shares
        Since 2012~2015 (average) 3.3 Million
        2015/16 4.9 Million
        2016/17 4.8 Million
        2017/18 4.5 Million
        2018/19 (2nd Qtr 30.09.18) 4.4 Million
What do you think of this table.

Top 20 Shareholders were net purchases and has increased their holding since 2016/17. Thanks to selling it to the market.
If Institutional Investors or foreigners want to grab 1 to 1.5 million no of shares, the share price should move from 52W Lows. CMP is 123.50 52W low of 119Rs.
So seize the opportunity, before big boys buy frenziedly.
EPF and ETF should re-look at it instead buying high and waiting for many years. Why not averaged the share price that has grown in terms of net earnings.
As prasa said we have not seen any research report on poultry stocks.
are they doing this for a reason.

I think the big boys want to collect without allowing to move up. so its an artificial suppression of share movement.

        • Nice work. Consolidation or sideway is fantastic before the trend or breakout.

              • This has tested 120, the last low was 119. mind you these levels could be where smart money come in. current average lows can be compared to the 2014/15 FY period when BFL recorded 160Mil net earnings. Since then it was trading 130+, And now dropped to 118 when cumalative earnings is 400mil (more than double of 2014/15). So this buying below 120 technically/fundamentally a bargain period.

                • if you analyse statistics over last few quarters, BFL had been trading at 5PE multiple. the quarter has seen 115 as the lowest price traded. how many shares traded at that price is another question. however so far this quarter show 120 as the lowest traded price. can we see shares now exchanging from weaker hands to the stronger ones

if one looks at TAF,BFL and most probably GRAN, the ratios over the years have improved very well.
But share price has not traded strongly to capture the fundamental financial improvements of the company.

As mostly srilankan investment mindset is focussed on negatives than the opportunities.
although negatives are their in existence and has some bearing, but we as retailers must not solely look at these as major factors, but as part of the challenges.

Starting with BFL annual net earnings is now between 400 minimum and can go to 700 million. So we can safely assume a min 400mil of net earnings is a must bench mark for the future years.
There current ratio has improved and continue to improve YoY.
The DIR is also show remarkable increase from 70 days to 111 days.
TIR could be damper in 2018, but may see an improvement in 2019 compared to last year.

Debts have declined in 2018 from a high 23% to 16% and in 2019 it has declined further since 31.03.18

BFL has stood in the forefront in increasing SH wealth over the years. Earlier we use to get 1 final dividend, but since few years back started to distribute an interim in addition to the final.
                  Also increased the pay-out.

ROE i would like to see is above 20% and debt leverage below 15%.
GP margin has had a bearing, import restrictions and rupee depreciation.

Since late january we see rupee stabilising, and this is a very good start.

but a direct import of feed ingredient exclusively for export purposes of poultry meat or feed will be a game changer to the industry.
the present finance minister and his deputy are the 2 who can bring these changes to revolutionized the sector with their forward thinking attitude.

all are clamouring of export earnings as the way forward, so lets bring these changes for the benefit of the country.

over the years free cash flow position has strengthen and YoY Rs 20/share is the norm, thats 320 million per annum after CAPEX.
contrarians will have no qualms, will continue to buy from the weaker hands.

ST traders should look at 5PER as valuation.

                  Key Takeaways;
Fiscal Easing(2019 owing to Election year) - Salary hike to state employees in Jan 19. The effect will reflect 2019/20
Easing of import permits gradually and allowing direct imports.
                  Rupee stabilization.
